Coweta County, Georgia (February 16, 2023) – Coweta County deputies say a drunk driver led them on a high-speed chase during rush hour on Wednesday evening.
It began at State Road 34 and Fischer Road, near one of Coweta County’s busiest intersections. Deputies say a 22 year old male, was driving at more than 80 mph in a 55 mph zone. According to witnesses, he had no intention of stopping.
This was one of three police pursuits on a busy night in Coweta County. According to deputies, the man drove down Fischer Road at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour during the evening rush hour.
Deputies said the body cam shows the driver forcing cars out of the way as the pursuit continued down Fischer Road toward Northgate High School.
The video ends with his car crashing into a ditch. The video then shows the foot chase that led to the driver’s arrest after he was tasered by the deputy.
According to deputies, he was charged with felony fleeing, DUI, failure to maintain lane, reckless driving, crossing the double yellow line, and failure to report an accident that he allegedly caused during the pursuit.
I met with Harry Brown personally and he sat with me for 20 minutes at our initial consultation to explain everything. He even called after my surgery to see how I was doing. I met with him several more times after that and was kept informed about my case throughout. I highly recommend Harry Brown as an attorney.
