Evans, Georgia (April 28, 2023) – A 3-year-old girl was killed in a car accident near Columbia Road and Stowe Drive on Friday afternoon.
According to Columbia County dispatchers, the wreck near Woodlawn Baptist Church was reported at 12:49 p.m.
The driver of a 2011 Hyundai Elantra was driving east and did not realize traffic had stopped in front of her.
In order to avoid a rear-end collision, she swerved and entered the oncoming lane.
According to deputies, that’s when she was hit by a westbound Jeep Cherokee.
The deceased is the 3-year-old daughter of the Elantra’s driver.
Deputies said that despite being in a car seat in the backseat of the vehicle, the girl died instantly after suffering severe head and brain injuries.
The driver of the vehicle carrying the three-year-old child was found to be at fault for the collision, and charges will be filed.
I met with Harry Brown personally and he sat with me for 20 minutes at our initial consultation to explain everything. He even called after my surgery to see how I was doing. I met with him several more times after that and was kept informed about my case throughout. I highly recommend Harry Brown as an attorney.
Fatal Car Accidents in Georgia
It’s many people’s worst nightmare to hear that a close friend or family member passed away in a car accident or suffered critical injuries. An accident-related death of a loved one can leave a family with both financial and emotional difficulties.
A person who has been injured in a car accident caused by the negligence of another driver has the legal right to file a personal injury claim and seek compensation from the negligent driver. They have the right to file a claim for any direct expenses incurred as a result of the accident.
If an accident victim dies as a result of their injuries, the surviving family members may sue the at-fault driver for wrongful death. The deceased’s family will be able to seek justice for their loved one.
The family can file a wrongful death lawsuit to obtain financial compensation for the funeral costs and emotional suffering brought on by their loved one’s untimely passing.
The last thing on your mind is probably settling an insurance claim or bringing a wrongful death lawsuit when a family member passes away as a result of someone else’s negligence.
