Macon, GA (December 26, 2022) – A fatal traffic accident that occurred around 4:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve on I75 northbound near the on-ramp from Rocky Creek Road, is being investigated by The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
A GMC Sierra pickup was traveling north on I75 near the on-ramp from Rocky Creek Road when it collided with the center barrier and then went off the interstate on the right shoulder.
The driver was a 41 year old male from Macon, Georgia. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner. There was nobody else involved in the accident.
The accident is still being investigated and anyone with information should contact The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
I met with Harry Brown personally and he sat with me for 20 minutes at our initial consultation to explain everything. He even called after my surgery to see how I was doing. I met with him several more times after that and was kept informed about my case throughout. I highly recommend Harry Brown as an attorney.
Single-Vehicle Accidents in Georgia
Single-vehicle accidents occur when only one vehicle and one driver are involved. A single-car accident occurs in the majority of cases when the vehicle collides with another object or is pushed off the road.
Even though there were no other cars involved in the collision, a single-car accident can still be very dangerous and even fatal.
Single-vehicle collisions present a variety of legal issues. Even when only one vehicle is involved in an accident, determining who was at fault can still be difficult.
There is a chance that the accident was caused by the carelessness of another person. Consider the following:
-Poor road conditions can make it difficult for drivers to maintain control of their vehicles, increasing the risk of a collision. Potholes, seams, and construction debris left on the road are examples of defects. If you were involved in an accident because of poor road conditions, the person or organization responsible for the problem could be held accountable.
-Even if another driver’s vehicle did not collide with yours, they may be held liable for the accident. If the other driver is careless and causes your vehicle to go off the road, they may be responsible for any damages and injuries that you sustained.
-Mechanical issues can cause a variety of problems when driving a car. When a car’s brakes, steering columns, tires, wipers, and airbags fail to function properly, the driver may be killed. When people’s cars don’t work properly, it can result in serious injuries.
These are just some of the many different scenarios that can lead to an accident involving a single vehicle in which the driver is not to blame.
