Tifton- GA – Woman Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle
Tifton, GA (November 2, 2022) – Georgia State Patrol investigated a fatal pedestrian accident in Tifton, GA, late Tuesday night.
Troopers were called to 20th Street, near Missouri Avenue, after a female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed.
Preliminary information obtained from the Georgia State Patrol says that a Ford Explorer, driven by an 86-year-old woman, was traveling west on 20th Street when a female pedestrian attempted to cross the street, traveling into the path of the vehicle.
The Explorer struck the pedestrian, who troopers say was not walking in a crosswalk.
The Tift County Coroner’s Office says that the 51-year-old woman tragically died at the scene of the accident due to injuries she sustained when struck by the vehicle.
